Brew Your Best Life in 2015

015Good Morning from Maine! #Gratitude

Welcome to PERCOLATE Daily.

I hope you follow along with me each day, perhaps even consider using a journal to write your thoughts as we go.  I also would love your comments and I’m sure others would appreciate them too. In my book, Percolate – Let Your Best Self Filter Through, today and for the next several days, we are following along with The PERCOLATE Process.

I also taped a 50 minute free audio for you to listen to.  Click to listen:  Brew Your Best Life in 2015.

When we Percolate, we gradually improve ourselves and others as our message we share with the world expands.  When we are our best self, we touch the lives and hearts of others in positive, compassionate and often enlightening ways.

To begin Percolating and being our best, we must first understand that our life opens up when we shift our energy into our passions and talents that tap into our soul.  This, combined with developing and using your own set values, goals and a belief and behavior system, will support the lifestyle changes you wish to make to brew your best life. You go where you place your energy.

The 9 points which make up The PERCOLATE Process will help you ultimately “Percolate Peace,” and will help you profoundly shift your life – and – you’ll have some fun along the way.

JOURNAL

To begin, ask yourself these questions:

  • What footprints am I leaving?
  • Am I making the world a better place? In what ways?  What is holding me back?
  • How am I living my day-to-day life?
  • How do I feel most days?
  • Are there people in my life who have my back and vice-versa?
  • What’s my why?
  • What are my values, goals, beliefs and how is my behavior?
  • Does my behavior match my values, goals and beliefs?
  • What’s the pace of my life like?
  • Do I feel stuck?
  • What are my passions and talents?
  • How do I respond to rejection and criticism?
  • Does it shut me down or do I never give up?

Percolate Peace

Lifestyle changes occur when we become aware that our ability to experience peace is challenged at some level. To more easily return to a state where you feel peaceful to your core, we can make change.  Often, even a tiny change can help you change your course.  Awareness moves with us as we pay attention to the way something or someone makes us feel and we move our energy.    Let’s think about the graphic below and how our choices add or distract from our levels of peace.

Percolate Peace

Percolate-Peace

The types of choices you make in your life either add to or distract from your levels of peace.  These choices move your energy around. Some are unaware or not tuned into their energy shifts and thus not fully aware of their full potential of centered peace within. When we move too fast through our lives we might miss cues, which can bring us out of balance.  Energy is always changing.  To help you find your core of peace, think with your heart.

JOURNAL

Imagine if you started and ended each day from peace. Write about what that looks like for you.

Are you thinking with your heart?

How are you spending your energy?

What kind of choices are you making?

Does your behavior match your values?

Is it difficult for you to break from your friends and the crowd and follow your own highest, truest values and self?

Do you have an attitude of gratitude? Why?

When you aren’t feeling like you have an attitude of gratitude, what is happening around you?

What practice do you continue to put in place in your life to bring you to the core of your most highest, peaceful self?

When I opened my email this morning, I could hear joy in hearts, minds and souls. A few folks reached out to me with these thoughts:

“Ever wake up and just feel that you’re going to have am amazing day? Woke up this morning and just felt very positive, must be all the percolating I’ve been doing:)”

and

“This book has come to my life at the perfect moment as I am trying to decipher the voice inside of me that you talk about in Percolate.”

Joy is all around you.

It’s  choice you make to bring into your daily life and moments.

As you walk or run around today think about your joy and intention, love, gratitude, acceptance, and more in the footprints you leave.

You go where you place your energy.

JOURNAL

How do you discover joy?

Do you find joy in everyday basic life?

What brings you joy?

What does joy mean to you?

What stress is going on in your life that masks out joy?

What are you doing to manage stress?

Percolate

Be Joyful.

Today is the official day after the release of my new Hay House book, Percolate – Let Your Best Self Filter Through.  In yesterday’s post, I chatted about how the book has an overall theme of gratitude and then shared some of the messages of the book with listeners on these radio shows:

There was a very special moment yesterday when my husband and four children gave me flowers and a card to celebrate the release of the book.  Our oldest son came home from college for the day. We had a day of hugs and smiles, celebration and love.

Love is Everywhere.

Apply Love.

In a conversation about change, love can sometimes be lost in the shuffle.

Apply Love.

In a conversation about change, fear, and doubt…. naysayers may gather.

Apply Love.

When someone around you uses terms like “I can’t” or “That will never happen” or anything negative to you that is a limiting belief…

Apply Love and see the endless possibilities and positive energy.

Hear Yes.  Hear Love.

Learn to Practice Love, Gratitude and Acceptance for yourself and others around you.

Love.

JOURNAL

Do you love yourself?

Do you value yourself?

What does love mean to you?

When you apply love to a different viewpoint or challenge, do you notice a different outcome?

Ask Why?

Share your knowledge of Love, unlimited reach, possibilities and positive energy.

Are you thinking with your heart?

Are you thinking as a naysayer, with limiting beliefs who blocks change?

What are you percolating to yourself and others around you?

Good Morning from Maine!  #Gratitude

Welcome to Percolate Daily.

I hope you follow along with me each day, perhaps even consider using a journal to write your thoughts as we go.  I also would love your comments and I’m sure others would appreciate them too. Today is the official release of my new Hay House book, Percolate – Let Your Best Self Filter Through. The book has an overall theme of gratitude, however many who follow me in social media see  my daily gratitude message, “Good Morning from Maine! #Gratitude”.

 Percolate-Gratitude

When we practice Percolating Gratitude, we make choices with our behavior and thinking from moment to moment.

You have a choice to find gratitude and live in gratitude with your attitude, thoughts, actions and all.

One behavior that blocks gratitude is comparing yourself to others or to what others have.

Comparing-is-Gratitude-Blocker-graphic

I use a technique I affectionately call PERCOLATE flipping.  (Yes, flipping.)

This is where we turn negative thoughts & behaviors  into positive, gratitude rich thoughts & behaviors.

Turn negative chatter around.  Flip it and find the positive.

JOURNAL Exercise 1

Write down 5 negative things you catch yourself saying to yourself or out loud.

Leave room under each statement for two positive statements. Find the gratitude and write down two positive statements.

Example:

Elizabeth:  “I really wish I didn’t have food allergies.  I hate having food allergies.”

Positive statement 1: I love myself with food allergies.  Yes, the are difficult to manage, but I am grateful for my life and my daily experiences. I am grateful I have survived several allergic reactions.

Positive statement 2: I am grateful for all the wonderful people I have met and lives I have helped save as a result of sharing my story about food allergies. Even though they are difficult to live with, I practice healthy daily food allergy management and live my best life.

Example:

Elizabeth: “Rita’s new car is better than mine. I need a new car.”

Positive statement 1: I love my car. well, mini-van.  The thing is the ultimate-french-fry mobile.  It may have some mileage and some baseball dents and I am incredibly thankful that I have a car to drive, that runs, that has raised & supported my family and provides some comic relief at moments.

Positive statement 2: It’s hard to think about trading our van in as our kids are all teens now and their personalities are still all over the windows where they sit (or sat). One window has stickers from the Disney movie Cars arranged on it.

JOURNAL Exercise 2

Find an even quieter space and read what you have written.  Read it several times.

Pick one statement and the two positive statements and put them into motion in your life.

You might hang this on your bathroom mirror, carry your journal and reminder, put it in your phone or meditate.

Consider sharing this with someone and ask if they have any additional POSITIVE things to add.

What is your level of gratitude for yourself? Others? The world around you?

Percolate

Be Grateful.
